February 11, 1927 – November 23, 2024
Dolores Mascarenas, a Colorado native and cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at the age of 97.
Dolores was a woman of immense warmth, boundless love, and an unyielding curiosity for life. She had a deep passion for traveling, always drawn to the comfort of the ocean—a place that seemed to quietly connect her to her late husband, Bill Mascarenas, a proud Navy man.
She devoted her life to her family, finding joy in the simplest of moments—playing card games, perfecting her legendary homemade tortillas and green chili, collecting trinkets, or sharing stories from her beloved books and eventually audiobook tales. Dolores had a unique ability to transform ordinary days into treasured memories, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her children, Bill Mascarenas, Alan Mascarenas, Tim Mascarenas (Sarah Mascarenas), and Debbie Mascarenas; her grandchildren, Adam and Damen, Bill Mascarenas (and family), Charlie Mascarenas, Desi Comiskey, Mary Sandborn (Kurt Sandborn), and Lauren Mascarenas; and her great-granddaughter, Kayden.
In keeping with Dolores’s wishes, her family will celebrate her remarkable life privately, honoring her spirit with love, laughter, and remembrance.
Dolores will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.
