
Eva R. Schou Adams was born December 24, 1916 in Cleveland, Ohio to Elfrieda and Ben Ward. At the age of two the family moved to Byers, Colorado where Eva went the first 10 years of her schooling (all of this either on horseback or horse and buggy). She graduated from high school at Deertrail, Colorado. She then went on to Barnes Business School and Denver Opportunity School, while working as a governess for a Doctor's children. Eva worked as a discharge clerk for Fitzimmons Army Hospital for two years in her early years and was also a clerk at the Elizabeth Post Office for a short time.
Eva was Clerk of the Elbert County Court for ten years and also Clerk of the Douglas County Court for two years. She served as secretary for the Kiowa Manor Senior Housing Board, Elbert County Registrar, Deputy Clerk for Elbert County District Court, Deputy Clerk for Elbert County Selective Service Board and was Clerk for the town of Elizabeth for a few years.
Eva married Ralph Teten in 1942 and to this union one son, Eugene Merle was born. In 1946 she married Otto Schou who had four children and twin sons, Wayne and Dwain were born of this union. In 1970 She married Merle Adams.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Elfrieda Ward, husbands, Ralph Teten, Otto Schu and Merle Adams, stepdaughter, Carole Evans.
