Florence Elizabeth (Larkin) Crompton, 88, was born in Omaha, NE on 11/20/26. Departed into eternal life 12/25/2014. Florence was preceded in death by her husband Bill, parents, John Joseph & Loretta Marie Larkin, her sisters Mary Jane DeBacker and Sister Loretta Marie Larkin, her brothers John, Gene and Phil and granddaughter Erin. She is survived by daughter, Theresa (Gary) Barr, sons Bill Jr. (Margaret), Jim and Tom (Lois) Crompton, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Florence and husband Bill met and married in Omaha, Ne in 1949. They moved to Illinois in 1956, moved to Denver in 1964 for a short time (after falling in love with Colorado while honeymooning there). Work though moved them to St. Louis in the 1980's. After retiring, they returned to Colorado. The loss of husband Bill and her battle with Alzheimer's necessitated a move to Greeley, CO in 2008 where she remained with the wonderful, loving caretakers at Garden Square Memory Care until she passed.
Throughout Florence's life, faith and family were her priorities. She was an active volunteer for the Catholic church. She also was president of the Women's Guild, a St. Joseph Hospital patient provider, member of the Rosary club and Helping Hands.
Despite her busy schedule, her family always came first, going to ball games, dances, conference meetings and school, community fundraisers. Florence and her husband were always there for their children.
Florence touched many lives with her faith, patience and love for life. No problem was too big to be overcome and no hurt that could not be healed. She had a smile and kind word for everyone and her twinkling, smiling eyes made the world a brighter place for all she knew. She will be missed, never forgotten. Her journey continues and her eyes are shining even brighter.
