She married the late Governor Clarence Estes on May 22, 1946 and they were blessed with three children, Sheila Haymore, Clarence Estes, and Teri Midgyett.
Frances went home to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior on September 8, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Fannie Cox; four sisters, Barbara Bowens, Mildred Free & Margaret Garrison (Twins) and Dorothy Gaither; 3 brothers, Samuel, Deloris and Donald Cox and her husband, Governor Clarence Estes.
Frances remained at home and raised her three children until they became school age. She was employed by Schultz Hospital and Lowell Elementary School as a para for the Waterloo Community School District. She was a devote wife and mother. After her retirement she and her husband moved to Aurora, Colorado to join their 2 eldest children. They had a new home built and both worked part time at Cherry Creek Nursing Home in Aurora, Colorado. After her beloved husband passed away in 1988, she moved into a small apartment they chose together before his passing. Frances remained there until she moved to Hampden Hills Assisted Living Home. Frances was admitted to The Denver Hospice where she passed away.
She was a quiet yet strong, courageous woman who never complained about her health issues, (despite having many). God blessed her to live a long, full life of 89 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her one son, Clarence Estes of Denver, CO; daughters, Sheila (Lee) Haymore of Aurora, CO, Teri (Andrew) Midgyett of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Rabin, Tonya, Ty, Danielle, Jaime, and Elyse; great-grandchildren, Trayvondus, Golias, Rylon, Jovana, Amare, Dejah, Jayden and Taj, and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements under the direction of Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, Denver, CO.
