Georgia M. McQueen Glenn

Georgia Mae McQueen Glenn of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on Mar 16, 2023, in Aurora, Colorado. Georgia was born in Montgomery, AL. She graduated from Booker T Washington High School and not long afterward married the boy down the street, her childhood sweetheart. She was married on June 30, 1954, in Montgomery, Alabama, to Mr. Joseph Glenn Jr. Georgia was a devoted member of the Church of the Master in Denver, CO, for 48 years until her health declined. She loved the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets. Mom and Dad were season ticket holders for the Denver Nuggets games. Georgia’s hobbies included: Craftwork, ceramic work, gardening, and playing BINGO. She also enjoyed playing the one-arm slot machines. She was a great seamstress and knitted, crocheted, and quilted. She also made sitting stools. Georgia was an excellent cook and baker, and the aroma of freshly baked cookies would permeate the house. She loved to listen to Jazz and Blues, especially Bobby “Blue” Bland. Georgia is survived by her husband, Joseph Glenn Jr of 69 years of marriage, and her four sons Anthony (Margaret A.) Oran Glenn, Cordova, TN; Joseph Willie Glenn III, Washington, DC.; Derek (Deseri M.) Alan Glenn, Centennial, CO; and Kenneth (significant other Karen Goodman) Owen Glenn, Centennial, CO; and Three grandkids, Kristine Kayla Vasco (Rafael Vasco), Manahawkin, NJ; James Joseph Glenn, Washington, DC.; and Derek Alan Glenn Jr, Centennial, CO. A brother, Harrison McQueen, brother-in-law Jimmy (Jeanetta H), Montgomery, AL; C. Glenn, sister-in-law JoJoan E Broadnax, Montgomery, AL; Cousin, Sophie Mae Bronson, Montgomery, AL; and a host of others cousins and nieces, uncles, and aunts. A funeral service for Georgia will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231. A reception will occur Friday, March 24, 2023 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231. A graveside service will occur Monday, March 27, 2023 at 10:15 AM at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Georgia's memory may be made to St. Jude Hospital, American Cancer Society; and Dementia Society of America.
