Born and raised in Racine, WI, Helen moved to Denver with her sister Katherine in 1954. Preceded in death by her husband, John P. Koclanes, and survived by children Angela (Jim) Hernquist, Peter (Teri) Koclanes, and Ted (Dee) Koclanes, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Helen was a medical technician for 35 years, working early on in blood banks and hospitals and later with private practice physicians. She was a member of the Sewell Rehabilitation Center Women’s Auxiliary, a founding member and long-standing volunteer of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Cathedral Food Festival, an advocate with Denver CASA, and a Field Marshall at the PGA International Golf Tournament for 11 years.
A diehard and dedicated Broncos fan with season tickets for over 50 years, she loved golfing, skiing, and being active. Funeral services will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Denver.
