Lelaina Lea Anderson Wilson

Lelaina passed away after a brief and sudden illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was a very sweet, incredibly smart, strong and loving girl. She loved to make people laugh, and she knew just how funny she was. Her ability to make people laugh usually involved making funny faces, tickling people (and getting tickles too), dancing around and shaking her butt.

Lelaina loved all animals, always making animal noises, and she especially loved her dog, RoRo, and cats, Lennon and Honey. One of her favorite animals was an owl, which dates back to the theme of her baby shower. She always enjoyed being outside, making it hard for her parents to get her to come back inside. She loved playing in the snow, visiting the beach, swimming in the ocean and playing on slides and swings. When she wasn’t outside, she enjoyed playing with her dolls, reading and using her parents as her personal jungle-gym.

Lelaina had many nicknames given to her. Ryan, Lelaina’s dad called her Tiny and Kristen, her mom nicknamed her Dove. She was always her mom’s shopping sidekick. As a family, they would frequently travel to visit family in Detroit, Michigan, Rangely, Colorado and most recently, Florida.

She brought so much love, happiness and laughter to her family and their loved ones, and she will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish Lelaina’s memory are her parents, Kristen Anderson and Ryan Wilson; maternal grandparents, Roberta Martin & David Holman, and Dennis & Kathleen Anderson; paternal grandparents, Shelly & Jeff Polley; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends. Lelaina was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Stephen Wilson.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Lelaina’s life will take place on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 3:00-5:00pm, at Olinger Hampden Mortuary located at 8600 East Hampden Avenue, Denver, Colorado.

In Lelaina’s memory, take a walk in the park with someone you love, dance around the house, tell a funny joke, or do something to make someone smile.
