Margaret Jean Greene

Margaret Jean Greene of Silverthorne, CO was welcomed into an eternal relationship with our Lord on March 21, 2012. She departed this life following complications from cancer. Jean was born in Escanaba, MI and graduated from Gladstone High School in 1958. She married her best friend, John F. Greene in 1963 who was a devoted husband to his loving wife. They were blessed with two wonderful children, daughter, Karen now living in Bodega Bay, CA and son John Kenneth, living in Fort Myers, FL.

Jean's life was filled with loving service to others. A devoted Christian who loved to be with her family, she was active in the Dillon Community Church bible study, small groups and choir. For 30 years she was a Speaker for the Christian Women's Club. She and husband John participated on overseas mission trips to Mexico and Northern Ireland. Jean had a commitment to restorative justice of at-risk youth and served on the board of Friends for Youth in Denver.

Jean and John loved the new cultural experiences of international travel, hiking, tennis and biking in Colorado and Europe.

She is survived by her husband, John; daughter Karen; son John Kenneth; mother, Genevieve (LaBumbard) Pierce, of Gladstone, MI; sister, Sandra Carlson, of Rapid River, MI; son-in-law, Jeffery Swanson of Bodega Bay, CA; brother-in-law, Larry Carlson of Rapid River, MI.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Pierce of Gladstone, MI and parents-in-law Mr. & Mrs. John Greene formally of Gladstone, MI.

A celebration of her life is planned for Thursday, March 29th at 1:30pm, at Dillon Community Church located at: 371 E. LaBonte Street, P. O. Box 1979, Dillon, CO 80435. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Dillon Community Church Food Bank.
