Margaret Mary Vogt

Margaret Mary Vogt, 92, of Greenwood Village, CO, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2026. Marge was born in Madison, NJ on August 22,1933 to parents John Gerald and Mary Ann (Allen) McVey, who immigrated from Glasgow, Scotland to the United States in 1927.

Marge was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Alan R. Vogt, and daughter, Linda Vogt Richmond; brothers John, Mike, and Paul McVey; sisters Mary McVey, Teresa Smith, Susan Loia, and Bernadette Fredericks. She leaves behind her youngest sister, Cecelia Shannon. Marge is also survived by her children, Bob Vogt, Brian Vogt, Diana Vogt O’Brien, Alan Vogt, Janice (Mike) Sabin, Eric (Angie) Vogt, fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Marge’s Catholic faith and family were her greatest passions. Despite numerous relocations due to her husband’s job, her local parish was always a significant part of family life. She was actively involved as a Eucharistic Minister, helped with numerous events, joined Rosary prayer groups and Bible studies, and treasured her prayer time in the Adoration Chapel.

As a devoted wife and mother, Marge dedicated her life to creating a beautiful and warm home for her husband and seven children on a shoe-string budget. She frequently hosted family, friends and priests for dinner, holidays or special occasions. Everyone was always welcome. Marge also volunteered at school and enjoyed planning unique and fun family outings, including Sunday drives, camping trips and other vacations.

Marge was a woman on the go. She loved bridge, bowling, tennis, golf and volunteering in the community. Voted “Most Likely to Travel” in high school, Marge loved to travel with friends, and she did so extensively, especially in retirement with her loving husband. In all her activities, she was always the epitome of class and style.

Marge never met a stranger. Her deep love, compassion and concern for others endeared her to everyone, young and old alike. Wherever Marge lived, she left a legacy of faith, family and community.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 7190 Hwy 17 S, Fleming Island, FL 32003. Inurnment in the Sacred Heart Columbarium and a reception in Sullivan Hall will immediately follow. Marge will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Alan.

A Memorial Mass will be held locally at St. Mary Catholic Church, Littleton, Colorado at a date to be determined.
