Mary Ann Kern, beloved sister, aunt and friend, born on November 8, 1938 in Denver, Colorado was released into the loving presence of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on September 13, 2012.
She graduated from North High School in 1957, and went on to receive a degree in Pharmacology from the University of Colorado in 1961. She was a dedicated “Buff” fan to the end and served her beloved North Denver community as a pharmacist for 40 years, at one time owning her own drug store.
She loved to travel, especially with good friends, but was always glad to get back home to her neighborhood and mountains again. She was steeped in Denver history and loved to share her knowledge with her willing audiences.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Gladys Kern, her brother Eugene Kern and sister-in-law, Frances (Frankie) Kern. She is survived by her brother Stanley Kern, now of Kansas City, Mo.; her sister(in-law), JoAnn Kern, of Corta Madera, Ca.; niece Patricia (Pat) Harlan of Aurora, Co., her husband Stephen, grandnephews Joshua (Chantal) and Jesse (Angel); her nephew Stephen (Steve) Kern of Shawnee, Ks., his wife Patricia, and grandnieces Emily Nelson (Sven), Erin Brown (Alexander), and Alexandra Kern; her niece Pamela (Pam) Read of Kansas City, Mo. her husband Glenn. Several amazing great grand nephews and nieces round out the family that will miss Mary’s spicy, yet sweet outlook on life.
Many dear and devoted friends, several of whom were absolutely indispensable to her care, are left as well, to cherish the memories of her that they will carry forward.
You are loved, Mary and will always have a special place in our hearts and memories until we meet again.
