Phyllis Irene Artrup, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 28, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born on July 27, 1932, in Manhattan, Kansas, to Walter and Eva Scantlin. Phyllis grew up alongside her siblings—Marcreta, Gene, and Roger—who shared with her the foundation of family, hard work, and love that shaped her life.
In 1960, Phyllis married the love of her life, Donald Artrup, in Colorado. Through their union, a beautiful blended family was formed. Donald brought with him two children, Linda and Donald, and Phyllis was blessed with four children of her own: Victoria (Vicki) Heath, Rick Davison, Tracy Davison, and Paulette (Paula) Osborn. Together, they built a warm, lively, and loving home that grew into a large and deeply connected family tree.
For the past five years, Phyllis lived in Bennett, Colorado, with Randy and Paula, where she was surrounded by comfort, care, and family. Her passing followed complications from surgery for a partial hip replacement, from which she never fully recovered. Though her loss is felt deeply, her memory shines brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
Phyllis was a woman of dedication and grit. She worked various jobs throughout her life, but her longtime career at Continental Airlines, where she spent 22 proud years, remained a defining chapter. After retiring, she spent her time enjoying the simple and joyful things she loved most—crocheting, sewing, traveling, and indulging her sweet tooth. Anyone who knew Phyllis knew one thing for certain: root beer floats were her favorite treat. In her honor, her family invites everyone to enjoy one and think of her. Her favorite place to visit was Hawaii, whose beauty and peacefulness always captivated her.
Above all, Phyllis cherished family. She built an extensive and loving legacy that spans generations. She is survived by a large, devoted family, including her children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren:
