Shirley Ann Sweetman

October 25,1928 – May 12, 2025

Shirley Ann Sweetman (Smith), of Denver, Colorado, was welcomed into heaven on Monday, May 12, 2025 at the age of 96. She is survived by her children Christie (Edward) Miedema, Linda Sweetman (Jim Perkins), Sally Sweetman (Clay Ireton), and Ross (Tamsyn) Sweetman, eight grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Christine Smith of Grand Rapids, Michigan where she was born and raised. Shirley met her adoring husband Ivan at Calvin College and they were married for nearly 60 years. Shirley lived a life of service and had a profound love for her Lord, family, and community. She was an active volunteer and advocate for the Bethesda Foundation, Denver Christian Schools, Third Christian Reformed Church (Hope Fellowship), and many other local charitable organizations. Shirley loved roses and was an avid traveler and talented artist. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family, especially at the Sweetman family cabin in Grand Lake, Colorado. Sweet Gigi will be dearly missed by all.
