

Sidney was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, on July 30, 1931, and was the son of the late Austin (Pop) Redd and Elva Redd. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and entrepreneur.
In addition to his parents, Sidney was preceded in death by Joanne Louise (Addis) Redd (wife, married June 25, 1950) and Sondra Gayle (Palmer) Redd (wife, married February 20, 1999), granddaughter Angela Sharpe, his brothers Austin Redd, Jr., Bert Redd, Glenn Redd, Ike Redd, Dale Redd, and stepson Loren Kendal Smith.
Sidney is survived by his sister Betty Leek and brother David Redd; his children Shirley (John) Gabbel, Skip (Claudia) Redd, and Susan (Mark) Boulanger; his stepchildren Laurel Kristen (Dave) Bolar, Lori Kandace (Mark) Hurley, and Lisa Kelody (David) Bird; 7 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Sidney lived his childhood in Grand Junction, Colorado, and graduated from high school in 1949. He worked on oil rigs, was a machinist for Frontier Airlines for 28 years, and owned a janitorial business, an apartment complex, and rental properties. He was constantly improving his credentials and learning new things.
Sidney had a strong work ethic and pushed those around him to improve themselves. He worked several jobs and started many entrepreneurial endeavors in order to allow his wife to stay home with their small children. He retired in 1994 to pursue ministry projects, mission trips, and RV MAPS.
Sidney loved to repair and build things. His most known hobby was collecting and working on clocks. He also collected coins, wood boxes, tools, and model cars. Sidney utilized his many skills and talents with the ministry of the RV MAPS of the Assemblies of God. He assisted churches with various building projects and was involved with approximately 65 projects nationally and globally. Sidney also ministered with various churches on about 14 mission trips. He enjoyed traveling, learning about other cultures, understanding their history, and seeing historical sights. He also enjoyed exploring new places and quality time with his wife Sidney attended Glad Tiding Tabernacle in Denver, Aurora First Assembly, and Family Worship Center Church in Centennial. He was active in several capacities at all the churches he attended. Until his recent decline in health, he organized the church food bank and helped families in need throughout the Centennial community.
Sidney loved his family and people. Many times, he was the life of the party and a tease.
He loved Jesus, enjoyed studying the Bible, and prayed for the world to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.

A graveside service for Sidney will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231.
