Stephen McConnell

Stephen Lyle MCConnell was born March 17,1941 at 11:05pm in Napa California. He was born to Lucille Synder Smith of Florence, Alabama and Lawrence R. Smith of Mulberry Grove, Kansas. At a very young age his father passed and his mother remarried. Steve was then adopted by his stepfather. After granduating high school in Fontana, California he joined the Navy, May 16,1963. He became a corpman in the Surgical Dept. at the San Diego Naval Hospital. Steve was honorably discharged January 20,1966 from Adak, Alaska. He then attended nursing school in Long Beach, California and began working as a LVN. While in the Navy, Steve married in 1965. He divorced his first wife Grace in 1976. While working at Waterman Convalescent Hospital in San Bernardino, California. He met and married the love of his life Doris Ann. They were married in 1987. Steve enjoyed working on puzzles and attending musical plays. His favorite pet was his Persian cat Kikomon (Kiko). Sadly he passed away about two months before Steve. Besides Kiko, there is Samuri or Sammy as we call him the Sitzu dog. Steve passion in life besides his "wifey" Doris, was Coffee. We will be putting his favorite coffee cup beside him in his final resting place. He was well loved and will be greatly missed.
