Susannah Mary Nelson

Susannah (Peg) Nelson was reborn into Eternal Life on Friday, May 14, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. Peg was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, Mom, Grandma, Great-grandma, teacher and friend. She lived her Catholic faith every day of her life, and enriched the lives of all of us who knew her. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, her love of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her kindness to everyone.

She loved going to the ocean, 70’s rock-and-roll, Downton Abbey, Star Trek, walking with her dog, playing bridge with her friends, crossword puzzles, stupid games (especially Careers) and needlepoint.

Peg is preceded in death by parents, siblings, son Tim (Jennifer) Nelson and grandson Brandon Nelson. Peg is survived by Bill Nelson, her husband of 66 years, their children Bill (Jacque) Nelson, Sue (Bill) Longenbaker, Mike (Lore) Nelson, Kevin (Suzanne) Nelson, Pat (Liz) Nelson, and Mary (Paul) Schadler, along with 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Denver Hospice, who helped to make Peg’s passing peaceful and pain-free.

Before she died, Peg asked that instead of sending flowers, you honor her memory by considering a contribution to the Little Sisters of the Poor of Denver. Their address is 3629 W. 29th Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80211-3698. The order’s mission is to care for the elderly poor, and this was one of Peg’s favorite charities.
