William “Bill” Herold of Denver, lost his battle with Interstitial Lung Disease on October 4, 2012 with his wife, Barbara, by his side. Bill was born January 29, 1937 in Jersey City, New Jersey and received an electrical engineering degree from Newark College of Engineering. He and Barbara were married January 24, 1959 and have celebrated 53 years together. Bill’s career started with Hughes Aircraft where he developed into a very good software, hardware and systems engineer for large complex integrated computer and communications systems. Many of the programs were first of a kind. The earliest was the Surveyor Program which paved the way for the Apollo moon landing. He helped develop major technology program proposals to the US government. Recently, Bill was involved with a group called the Patient and Family Advisory Council at Exempla Saint Joseph’s Hospital. A group he thoroughly enjoyed. Bill had a love of music and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing throughout his life. He and Barb traveled to many countries during their life together. Bill was loved and respected by his numerous friends and they will miss his wonderful sense of humor.
