

Antonietta Lullo, 84 years old, of Des Plaines, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at her home in Des Plaines.
Antonietta was born on November 26, 1940 in Marano Principato, Italy (a town and comune in the province of Cosenza in the Calabria region of Southern Italy), to parents Achille and Annunziata Molinaro. Antonietta was one of five children. Her sister Raffaela and beloved Joe, her sister Ida with beloved Joe, her sister Victoria and beloved Mario, and brother Tony with beloved Carol. Antonietta came to America in 1955 at the age of 15 from Italy. She adjusted to American life but held on to her Italian roots. She learned how to speak, read and write in English while attending high school. Later in life at age of 18 she continued her English education during night school. At this point, she met Carmine Lullo who was 19. He was there as well to learn English. After meeting Carmine she continued with school and then they started to date. They dated for 7 months and then got married on November 28, 1959. It was love at first sight.
They spent the next 65 years together creating a family and a lifetime of memories. They raised 4 children together. Her children are Geraldine (Lullo) Covello married to Joseph Covello, Emo Lullo (Cai Luciano), Maryanne (Lullo) Geisler married to Jeffrey Geisler, and Carmi Lullo. She has six grandchildren: Gina (Covello) Gaddini with Nick Gaddini, Jack Covello with Lauren Covello, Vince Lullo with fiancee Nidhi Matthews, Vito Lullo with Emily Lullo, Rocco Lullo, and Tanner Geisler. She is a great-grandmother to 6 kids. Arianna & Nikko Gaddini, Joseph & Gianna Covello, and Giuseppe and Maria Rose Lullo.
Antonietta lived a simple life with family and friends who loved cooking, baking, gardening, and creating a loving home for her family and friends. She will be missed by many!
A visitation for Antonietta will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM at St. Zachary Parish, 567 W. Algonquin Rd., Des Plaines on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, followed by a committal service at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Road in Des Plaines.
