Barbara Julie Holub (nee Seymour), 80 of Chula Vista, CA, was born in South Dakota April 6, 1944, to the late Chester and Stella (nee Matula) and passed away on July 24, 2024, in Escondido, CA. Barbara was the wife of the late Edward Holub and dear mother of Peggy Holub Serrai (David). Beloved sister to the late Chester (Patricia) Seymour, Sally Winters and Donna (Jerry) Greenwald. Dear aunt to Theresa, Chester III, Karen, Daniel, Joe and Jeffery.
Barbara loved children and worked in child care for many years. She loved her family, friends, animals, music and dancing. Barbara was a proud Chicago native and a devoted Chicago Cubs fan. She also loved her granddog Pepe.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 14 from 9-11AM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St., Des Plaines, IL. Prayer will be said 11AM at the funeral home and then proceed to St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery (Palatine) for Interment.
Memorials may be made in Barbara’s name to Alzheimer’s San Diego.
