Barbara Loye Terry, age 84, entered eternal life on Friday, December 18th, 2015, surrounded by family. A lifelong resident of Des Plaines, Barb graduated St Mary’s Elementary School class of 1945 and Maine East High School class of 1949. Barb was an active member of St Zachary’s church, the Des Plaines Historical Society, the 5th Wheelers and especially her own family’s activities. Barb’s father, Michael J. Loye, immigrated from Ireland then met her mother in Chicago, Rose Ann Connolly, also of Irish descent. Barb adored and honored her Irish heritage, encouraging her children to do the same. She remained in contact with her cousins in Ireland, traveling there to visit. Barb’s happy, loving heart and shining spirit will be carried on by her 8 Terry children, 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Preceding Barb in Heaven are her brother, John “Buddy” Loye; sisters’ Marie Loye Caldon, Rita Loye Lee; and niece Rosie Caldon Messica. Please join us in a Remembrance Mass on Wednesday, December 30th, 2015, 3pm at St Zachary’s church, 567 W. Algonquin Rd, Des Plaines. Immediately following is her Celebration of Life Irish Party directly next door at Friendship Park Conservatory, 395 Algonquin Rd, from 4p to 8p. All who knew Barb are welcome, just as her home was always open to all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Des Plaines Historical Society, 781 Pearson Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
