하나님의 사랑하는 딸 강길자님께서 2022년 3월16일 (수) 향년 86세로 하나님의 부르심을 받으셨기에 부고 합니다. 그녀는 1936년 2월 3일 일본

오사카에서 부친 강창봉님과 모친 한청련님 사이에서 태어나셨습니다.

Christina was the daughter of Kang Chong Bong and Han Chung Ryun. She was also the beloved wife of the late Maximilian Changwook Moon; a loving mother to Tammy (James) Moon and Susie (KJ) Kim; cherished grandmother of Taylor Moon, Bradley Moon, Sarah Kim, Eunice Kim, Mary Kim, and Samuel Kim; fond aunt of Jeong Hun Kang (Mi Sun) living in South Korea; fond aunt of Pilsu Kang (Yungsook), Kum Hee Byun (Paul), Pil Chong Park (Se Joon), Peter Kim (Konnie); great aunt to Yoon Ji & Yu Jin Kang, Jay & Janice Kang, Mary Ann Byun, David & Jeffrey Park all living in the states; supportive sister-in-law of Chol Soo Kim; sister-in-law of Mijinja Moon and fond aunt of Heesuk Ko, Yukyung Ko, Heekyung Ko, Kyunghee Ko, Sangwoon Ko, Yuhjoo Minjung Ko all living in South Korea.

고 막시밀리안 문창욱의 사랑하는 아내이셨고. 문동희(무영) 과 김수지(정연) 의 존경하는 어머니로; 문지연, 문지훈, 김지연, 김수연, 김미연, 김태연의 소중한 할머니로; 강정훈(미선), 강필수(영숙), 변금희(폴), 박필정(세준), 김순동(카니)의 정겨운 고모로; 고모할머니 강윤지, 강유진, 강준혁, 강지혜, 변효진, 박호진, 박호영; 김철수의 든든한 처형; 문미진자의 올케언니, 또한 고희숙, 고유경, 고희경, 고경희, 고상운, 고여주(민정)의 다정한 숙모로 사셨습니다.

Christina was a devoted wife and mother. She grew up in extreme hardships in a war torn Korea and lacked basic necessities. Despite these challenges, as the eldest daughter, she managed performing as a top student as well as the manual labor of cooking and cleaning for her entire family while her parents went outside to earn money and provide for her large family.

강길자님은 헌신적인 아내이자 어머니셨습니다. 전쟁으로 피폐해진 한국에서 극한 어려움 속에서 자랐고 생필품도 늘 부족한 생활의 연장 이였습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그녀는 장녀로서, 대가족을 부양하기 위해 밖에서 일하시는 부모님을 도와 늘 가족을 위해 요리하고 청소하고 동생들을 돌보며 공부도 열심히 하는 우등생이셨습니다.

She was the first in her family to immigrate to the US, first to attend college and first to be a born again Christian. She worked as a nurse in the ICU for 20 years in Chicago, ran a dry cleaning business for over 10 years with her late husband and then retired while spending her time working part-time in a nursing home, serving at her church and traveling to Korea with her late husband. Outside of working and taking care of her family, she was a lifelong student of the Bible and prayed with conviction and urgency. Whenever the opportunity presented itself, she would talk to anyone about Jesus, although she was naturally an introvert. God emboldened her to speak about His grace and mercy to those who were lost and needing a Savior.

그녀는 가족 중 제일먼저 미국으로 이민을 왔고, 제일먼저 대학에 다녔으며, 제일먼저 거듭난 기독교인이 되었습니다. 시카고에서 20년 동안 중환자실에서 간호사로 일했고, 돌아가신 남편과 10년 넘게 세탁소 사업을 하다가 은퇴했습니다. 남편과 함께하는 한국방문. 일, 그리고 가족 돌보는 일 외에는 성경공부를 열심히 했으며, 늘 기도 응답의 확신을 가지고 간절한 마음으로 기도했습니다. 그녀는 기회가 있을 때마다 그 누구에게나 예수님에 대해 이야기하곤 했습니다. 하나님께서는 천성적으로 내성적인 성격의 소유자인 그녀를, 길을 잃고 헤메는 자들에게 주님의 은혜와 자비에 대해 담대하게 이야기하고 증거할수 있게 하셨습니다.

She was a doting and loving grandmother to six grandchildren, who stayed up sleepless nights with her daughters helping care for their newborns to always gifting them with allowance money regardless of the occasion. She was generous with her time and money, and she was extremely proud of all of her grandchildren, not just for the traits of beauty and intelligence they were inherited but because they all followed Jesus, as she prayed for their salvation and spiritual walk with the Lord without ceasing.

그녀는 수많은 밤들을 딸들과 함께 신생아를 돌보고, 손주들을 위해 시간과 돈을 아낌없이 베푸는 다정하고 사랑스러운 할머니셨습니다. 그녀는 당신의 6명 손주들을 매우 자랑스럽게 여겼습니다. 그리고 늘 쉬지않고 기도 하셨습니다. 아름다운 외모와 지성을 물려받은 소중한 손주들의 구원, 예수님과의 영적동행, 그리고 예수님 닮아가는 삶을 위해서…

She and her late husband attended Korean Central Covenant Church for over 30 years and then First Korean United Methodist Church until recently when she entered a nursing home with memory care. She suffered from paranoia and dementia for the latter 20 years of her life, and she became physically weak over the years but her zeal for the Lord remained unwavering by God’s grace.

돌아가신 남편과 함께 30년 넘게 중앙교회에 출석하셨고, 얼마 전까지만 해도 시카고 한인연합감리교회에 출석하셨습니다. 말년 20년 동안 편집증과 치매에 시달리셨고, 세월이 흐를수록 육신은 약해졌지만 주님을 향한 열정은 흔들리지 않았습니다.

She will be dearly missed by all of those she leaves behind. However, we also celebrate as she has been welcomed into her eternal home in heaven by her Lord and Savior.

사랑하는 어머니, 할머니, 이모, 고모 … 그립고 보고싶은 마음은 이루 말할수 없지만 천국 그녀의 영원한 거주지로 옮기시고 그곳에서 환영 받으시는것은 감사하고 축하할 일이라고 생각합니다.
