Christine Marek, 73 resident of Des Plaines, was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 12, 1943 to Howard and Helen (nee Sorensen) Marek and passed away on September 23, 2016. Christine was the loving sister of Kathryn (Stephen) Farrell, the late Marjorie Ureche and the late Jean Marek; cherished aunt of Michael (Allison) Doubek, Lisa (Christopher) Malek, Brian (Alyson) Doubek; great aunt to many other nieces and nephews. Christine was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, an active member of TOPS Club Inc. for many years, and a librarian for the Chicago Public Library for 25 years. Family and friends will gather at 9:00am until time of service at 11:00am on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Hwy./ Rt. 14 at Rand Rd.), Des Plaines, IL 60016.
