Born on November 13, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky, David was the cherished son of Buford and Patricia McIntosh. David married Pattie on September 1, 2019 at their beloved Michigan home, on the dock that he prepared for their nuptials.
In addition to his newly wedded wife, David is survived by an adult son, Chase, and two teenage daughters, Madeleine and Isabel. David cherished attending his girls’ school functions, sporting events, or just stopping to say hi to them when they were out with their friends. He was always turning an experience into a teaching moment. He had no greater love than the love he had for Chase, Madeleine, and Isabel. David was a beautiful father figure to his new children from his marriage to Pattie. He loved Katelyn, Courtney, Nick, and Erin Wood and his grandson Mark. His new family loved him with all their hearts.
David was the best friend and love of Pattie (Carroll) McIntosh. He was a devoted brother to Jeff (Sheila) McIntosh, Melanie (Tate) Carter, and Angie (Elden) Cox. His love extended to his many nieces and nephews who adored him and will greatly miss him.
David spent much of his adult life self-employed. He was the proud owner of the Rock House Bar and Grill in Rolling Meadows for many years and has sustained beautiful, lasting friendships from those days. He also owned and operated McIntosh Realty. He loved music, art, camping, hiking, his motorcycle and the outdoors. He cherished his life and lived it better than most people will ever have the fortune to.
A memorial visitation will be held on October 13, 2019, 1-5pm at Oehler Funeral Home on 2099 Miner St, Des Plaines, IL 60016, with a memorial service Celebration of Life at 4pm.
A memorial/birthday party for David will be held in Lexington, KY on November 9, 2019. It will be held from 4-9 pm at the Athens School House cafeteria and grounds 6270 Athens-Walnut Hill Rd.
