Delores was born in Chicago on April 25th, 1929. Detail-oriented and determined, she worked hard to provide for her children, running a successful contracting business alongside her husband, Harry. The two lived in Des Plaines, but their travel spanned multiple continents. Delores and Harry often adventured for six weeks at a time, making wonderful memories exploring Italy, on safari in Africa, soaking in the sunshine in Hawaii, and more. Delores was particularly fond of Mexico and owned condominiums in Acapulco for forty-five years. There, she would dance in discos, relax in the pool, and take in the local scenery. She was a snowbird at heart and wore flip-flops year-round. Delores may have been a passionate world traveler, but her home, with custom-dyed purple carpeting and turquoise eaves, was her pride and joy. Dolores had excellent taste and an unflinching desire to do things “the right way,” and this shone through in her impeccable style and the design of her home, which was decorated in all of the pastel colors she so dearly loved. After Harry’s death, Delores reconnected with a dear old friend, Richard Kaczmarski, and the pair were married on her 75th birthday. In these later years, Delores would take trips back to Mexico with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking pride in watching three generations of family grow.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM on January 10th, 2026 at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, Illinois, with a funeral service at 11:00 AM the same location.
