Beloved son of Mark and Carolyn (Wallace); loving brother to Derek and Dylan; grandson to Richard and Linda Pace of Geneseo, IL and Tim and Maureen Wallace of Davenport, IA; great-grandson to Marjorie Pace of Cedar Rapids, IA; cherished nephew to Kim Zettel, Dan Wallace, Jamie Wallace, and Colleen Rosmilso, all of Davenport, IA; Scott (Amy) Pace of Atkinson, IL, and Amy (Lane) Murray of Geneseo, IL; and many cousins. Drason was preceded in death by his great grandparents Harmon and Viva Edwards of Dubuque, IA, William and Marion Wallace of Bankston, IA, Marcus (“Pat”) Pace of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Harold and Martha Macklin of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Drason was a man on the move. After graduating from his beloved Kirk School in Palatine, IL in 2016, he attended Clearbrook Partners in Adult Learning (Clearbrook PAL), in Palatine until his death. Here, with the help of his job coaches, he gained many friends through his volunteerism within the community and through the social outings he attended. He volunteered at Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows, IL and the Rolling Meadows Public Library. His infectious smile and laugh were contagious. His loves included his family, friends at both Kirk School and Clearbrook PAL, and country music.
Despite his disabilities, Drason touched the hearts of thousands of people throughout his life. Shortly after birth (1994), it was discovered he needed a new liver and his father, Mark, was a match. Because living related donor liver transplants were still considered experimental at the time, insurance denied it. He moved thousands of administrators, teachers, staff, students, and friends within Niles Township District 219 to unite and help him get the liver transplant he needed. Thanks to these amazing people, he survived an astonishing 25 years and brought much joy to those who knew and loved him.
