Elizabeth M. "Peggy" O'Leary of Des Plaines since 1984 Services for Elizabeth M. "Peggy" O'Leary, 77, formerly of Chicago, will begin with prayers at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines, then proceed to St. Mary Church, 794 Pearson St., Des Plaines, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Interment is private. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at the funeral home. Born March 6, 1932, in Chicago, she died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at her residence. Peggy was an art teacher in the Chicago Public School system for 38 years, and was affiliated with the Art Institute of Chicago. She received her B.A. degree from Alverno College, Milwaukee, and her master's degree from IIT. She was the cherished daughter of Bartholomew and Joan O'Leary; beloved sister of Jerry (Pat) O'Leary and the late Kathleen O'Leary; fond aunt to Erin (David) King and Jamie (Michael) Thomas; fond great-aunt of Austin, Madison, Dylan and Delaney; lifelong friend of Marie Comiskey; favorite cousin to Margaret Cunningham and Jimmy O'Connor; and godmother to many. She will be missed greatly by friends all over the world.
