Fred B. Giese

Fred Bernard Giese, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18th, 2024 in Maple Grove, Minnesota. He was born on September 23rd, 1936 in Chicago, IL to Fred J. and Harriet (Larson) Giese. Fred married Teresa White on February 8th, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois.

Fred is survived by his wife Teresa; son Brendan (Ashley) Giese; grandchildren Logan, Margot, and Simon; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Ruth.

Fred worked for IBM for over 30 years before he retired. He then worked for the City of Des Plaines before finally retiring to Minnesota to be closer to his grandchildren. He was a lifelong White Sox, Bears, and Blackhawks fan. He enjoyed exercise, golfing, and spending time with his friends and family. He served as an adult leader in Boy Scout Troop 114 where he made friends that would last decades. He was always cheerful, kind, and funny. He will be greatly missed.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation that will be held from 4pm - 8pm on Friday, December 6th, 2024 at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, Illinois 60016. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, December 7th, 2024 at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 1280 Prospect Ave, Des Plaines, IL. 60018. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
