George H. Gibson Sr.

George H. Gibson of Des Plaines since 1959 Visitation for George H. Gibson, 80, will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines. A prayer service will be at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Emily Church, 1400 E. Central Road, Mount Prospect, for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery. Born April 5, 1930, in Evanston, he died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, in Park Ridge. George was retired from Nicor Gas after 35 years as a quality control supervisor. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy T. (nee Wesolowski); children, George (Cynthia) Gibson Jr., Susan (Scott) Hutcheson, Donald (Donna) Gibson, Marianne (Carl) Weaver, Joyce (Peter) Chartier, Joanne (Daniel) Long and John (Adna Charlotte) Gibson; 10 grandchildren, Cari and Nick Weaver, Megan and Sara Hutcheson, Patrick and Casey Gibson, Emily and Ben Long, and Alessandro and Alexa Gibson; and sister, Ruth (Rick) Graham.
