Jeanne Theresa Cox

She was born on January 21, 1933, in Oklee, Minnesota to the late Dennis and the late Elizabeth Bergeron; she was the beloved wife of 33 years of the late Marvin L. Cox. Adored mother of Mary (Jim) Masella, Susan Barrett, Linda (Danny) Hargrove, Bob (Nancy) Wallace, Douglas (Lori) Cox, and the late David Wallace; cherished grandmother of Nick (Stacy), Liz (Josh), Genavie, Ashley, Jason (Selma), David (Ashly), Brian (Alison), Megan (Joey), Jennifer (Sam), Kelly, Matthew (Katie), Ryan (Kahlee), Tyler, Zachary, Dylan, and Logan; dear great grandmother of Max, Alex, Jocelyn, Colton, Aubree, Mia, Peyton, Elliott, Sami, and Carter; and fond sister of Dennis Bergeron.

A longtime parishioner of St. Stephen Protomartyr Church in Des Plaines, Jeanne was a shining light within the choir and as a member of the Harmonaires, the Spirit of Life Choir, and during her time with the USO. Her passion for the theatre extended for decades as a subscriber of the Lyric Opera. Jeanne leaves behind a legacy of compassion, love, and faith that will be carried on for generations by her loving family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, May 5, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Protomartyr Catholic Church, 1280 Prospect Avenue, Des Plaines. Private inurnment at a later date.
