Jessica Burns McNamara

Jessica Burns McNamara was born March 19, 1980 and died peacefully at home on December 1, 2015. Jessica is survived by her loving parents, John Patrick II and Susan (nee Ordoyne) McNamara, her siblings Melissa Garrity McNamara and John Patrick McNamara III, her grandmother Margaret (nee Garrity) McNamara and many caring aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Lucien Philip and May (nee Burns) Ordoyne, her grandfather John Patrick McNamara Sr. and by her loving aunt and godmother Laura (nee Ordoyne) Monger. Jessica graduated from John Hersey High School in 1998, and attended Ball State University graduating with a degree in Elementary Education in 2002. While attending Ball State she was initiated into Phi Mu Fraternity and was an active member of the Rho Gamma Chapter. Jessica spent 2004 living in Japan, teaching English to children and adults. In 2006 she moved to Louisiana, teaching 4th grade. In 2007 Jessica began teaching at Tafton Academy in Hammond, Louisiana, teaching 4th grade class there for the next seven years. Jessica was dedicated to her students, making sure they all received the best education she could give them. In her spare time Jessica loved to read, listen to music, especially the Beatles! She also loved to sing, sew and travel to visit friends. Visitation will be Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 2-8 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street (Northwest Hwy/Rt. 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines. Prayers will be said Monday, December 7 at 9:00 AM at the funeral home and proceed to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights for funeral mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jessica Burns McNamara Memorial Scholarship at Trafton Academy, P.O. Drawer 2845, Hammond, LA 70404.
