Happy Birthday Dad,  I wish this candle was on your Birthday cake with many more of them lit up.  We all miss you here   It's not the same anymore without you.  Even the music doesn't sound the same. You need to be sitting in your chair, smiling and listening to Perry Como, just like it use to be.  I had some home made wine the other day and I thought of you but that wine wasn't as good as yours. It was good but not like yours.  I miss you Dad  I hope you're singing up there with Perry and enjoying a glass of wine wit all your family and friends.  Happy Birthday Dad. I love You

Poppa John, 
     One of my most favorite memories of you that I've nevered shared with anyone in my life, was when we went out for lunch, on a sunny afternoon. I have no idea what age I was, but I'd assume I was around 6 years old. What restaurant were we at? I couldn't tell you. I can't even remember what our conversation was about. But to this day when I think of you it is the first thing that comes to my mind. I was looking out the window of the restaurant onto a river, smiling. My favorite part is, we didn't start at the best seat in the house, but my grandpa always had a way with people, and he knew I loved the water. As im looking out the window, two heaping plates of seafood pasta are brought to our table. While I'm already a quarter of the way through tossing aside the shells of mussels, clams, and shrimp, I look up. My Grandpa is still looking out the window, smiling, he hasn't event touched his food yet. He sees that I'm waiting for him too look back, so he turns, and says, "the food good?" I nod my head in content. He nods his with a big grin on his face, "Good", as he began to dig in. That's the way I want to remember my grandpa. A man of few words, yet so meaningful. Always putting others before himself, and only wanting the very best the world has to offer for his family. I'll miss you grandpa, more than you'll ever know.
