John T Rakow

John was born June 26, 1940 in Chicago to the late John W. Rakow and Ethel M. (nee Gerken) Rakow; loving brother to Joan Pope, Cleo (Dale) Tazbier. He is preceded in death by his brother Richard Rakow, sister Miriam (Tom) Inglis, and brother-in-law Brian Pope. He was a loving uncle to Brian John, Debbie, Cheri (Lou), Dale Jr. (Rachael), Kim (Tom), Jeff, and many great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews.

After serving in the Army, John hung drywall by trade and after retirement he was a handyman for many in his community. John never met a stranger. He was always willing to help others. He was a lifelong Chicago Cub's fan. He loved nature and birdwatching. He enjoyed time in his backyard which was a home to squirrels, bunnies, chipmunks, and birds. John believed in Jesus as Savior and Lord and is with Him now in heaven. John was dearly loved by his family and will be missed terribly.
