Judith "Judie" A. Stewart (nee Foulk), 78, of Des Plaines, Illinois, passed away peacefully at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge on January 8, 2026. She was born in Urbana, Ohio, on the 1st of December, 1947. Judie was a woman of remarkable strength, service, and deep devotion to her family.
A Legacy of Service and Career: A proud veteran, Judie served her country with honor in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Her military service was a testament to her character and her commitment to duty—qualities she carried with her throughout her life. Professionally, Judie was an extremely talented artist in the fields of illustration and graphic design, and she also dedicated many years of work to the dental field.
Family and Life: Judie is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Dale; her daughter, Kelly (Phil) Ford; and her sons, Damon (Megan) and Derrick (Michelle). She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to one. She is also survived by her brother, Karl (Joyce) Foulk, and many nieces who knew her as a beloved aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elden and Ellen Foulk; her beloved son, Marty; and her dear sister, Susan.
Her Joys: Some of Judie’s happiest moments were spent at the family Lake Home in Kewaunee, Wisconsin. She found great peace and joy being near the water and sharing that special place with her family. Above all else, family was her everything; and, her legacy of love will live on through the generations she adored. Judie was defined by her artistic intelligence and a restless entrepreneurial spirit, she spent her entire life creating and inspiring everyone around her. Recently, she found a love of sports, she enjoyed the excitement of the game and cheering on her favorite teams.
