Kathleen M. Thomas

Kathleen Thomas, 67, of Palatine, IL passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. She was born on January 24, 1958 in Crystal Lake, Illinois to John McCormick and Rosalie Coffey. Kathleen was known for her radiant personality, always spreading joy and laughter wherever she went.

Her love for the beach was unmatched, and she could often be found basking in the sun, reveling in its warmth even when the weather was less than inviting. Kathleen had a knack for discovering hidden treasures at flea markets, with a particular fondness for anything that sparkled. Her garden was her pride and joy, filled with flowers that mirrored her colorful spirit.

Kathleen was deeply committed to her community, volunteering at the local food bank and thrift store. Her selflessness and compassion were truly remarkable. Her love for animals was evident in the way she cared for stray cats, providing them with food and shelter, and even befriending a local duck who visited her often.

In her own unique style, Kathleen was known for her aversion to pants, preferring comfort above all else, even in the chilliest of winters. Her signature look was completed with bright pink lipstick and glittering eyeshadow, a testament to her colorful spirit. Music was her joy, and she never missed the opportunity to dance to disco or tunes from the '70s and '80s, often reminiscing about her days as a self-proclaimed disco teacher.

Kathleen's zest for life was unparalleled, and her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Kathleen’s memory will live on in the hearts of her Son (Robert Thomas), Daughter (Carly Thomas) Ex Husband, (Ronald Thomas), Sisters (Jean Holan, Rose Martinski, Sheila McCormick), Brother (John McCormick).

She is preceded in death by her, Father (John McCormick), Mother (Rosalie Coffey), & Aunt Kay.
