Louis F. (“Buddy”) DeBoor, 80, of Mount Prospect was born on August 28, 1941 in Chicago to the late Louis V. and Marion (nee Woller) DeBoor and passed away on September 30, 2021. Louis was the beloved husband of Louise (nee Morler) for 53 years; dear brother to the late Suzette Oates; loving father to Stacey (John) Hall and Scott (Melissa) DeBoor; proud Papa to Shannon, Zachary, and his grand-puppies Wrigley, Fayce, and Tedi.
Lou was born and raised in Chicago. He attended Austin High School and Wright Junior College. He served in the Army from 1964-1966; stationed at the Presidio of San Francisco. Lou met and married his wonderful wife, Louise, in 1968. They had 2 children, Stacey and Scott. They lived in Park Ridge for over 30 years before moving to Mt. Prospect. Lou worked in paper sales for his entire career, before retiring at the age of 57. He spent his retirement watching his grandchildren, Shannon and Zachary; loving every minute of being their “Papa.”
Lou was a long-time member of Spruce Street A.C. in Des Plaines. He enjoyed golfing and fishing; was a lifelong CUBS fan; loved animals, especially his “best friend” Barney. Lou held a special place in so many hearts and will be missed dearly. In lieu of flowers, donations to Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter in Riverwoods, IL would be appreciated.
