

Marian A. Price of Des Plaines Marian A. Price was the loving wife of the late Morton Price; devoted mother of Bradford (Christine) Price; caring grandmother of Grant Price, Evan (Heather) Price and Logan Price; dear sister of the late Virginia Armstrong and the late Barbara Archibald; and fond aunt of many. Born and raised in Chicago, Marian graduated from Senn High School, Wright Junior College (ABM sorority) and Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Marian was known for her many longstanding friendships, some dating back to grammar school. Her extraordinary positive outlook on life and people was commented upon by many. Marian was an advertising manager for Woodall's travel magazine in the late 1940s. After their son was born, Marian and her beloved late husband, Morton, moved to Des Plaines, where they were residents since 1952. Marian was a substitute teacher in the Des Plaines elementary schools. Marian was a women of diverse interests, love of travel, and strong involvement in many organizations, including P.E.O./American Association of University Women, D.A.R./Des Plaines Art Council, Boy Scouts of America (Cub Scout and Den Mother) and Questors. Marian's other interests included music group, many bridge clubs and a light-hearted dining group called the Gourmets. She and Morton enjoyed many activities together. In addition, they were members of First Congregational Church of Des Plaines. Marian later joined Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Schaumburg, where her son's family are members. Marian passed away on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, surrounded by family. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines, where services will be Thursday, at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association .
