Marion Louise Zabel, 90, of Park Ridge was born May 8, 1932 in Chicago to the late Nicholas and Marion (nee Victor) Zabel and passed away peacefully on March 16, 2023 surrounded by loving family and friends. Marion, known fondly as “Mary Lou”, will be missed by her many cousins and dearest friends. Marion touched many lives, especially as an “American Mom” to Halina, a decades-long “Friday Pizza Pal” to Maggie, and a “Grandmother Figure” to Sebastian. Special thanks to her exceptional caregivers Heather, Maria, and Alicja who became her true friends. Marion was a brilliant woman who lived her life with kindness, faith, and generosity.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM at Saint John Brebeuf Parish, 8307 N. Harlem Ave. Niles, IL 60714. The funeral mass will follow at 10:00 AM. Entombment will be at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery, 6800 N. Milwaukee Ave. Niles, IL 60714.
