

Visitation for Otto John Schultes, 63, of Long Grove, will be held Friday, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines. He will lie in state on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 am. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 S. School St., Mount Prospect. Interment will be private. He was the devoted and loving husband of Judith (nee Schachner); beloved father of Brigette (Rick) Ortiz, Ryan (Nicole) Schultes and Scott (Anna) Schultes; caring stepfather of Bob (Kim), Russel (Cheryl) and Kenneth Ruegger; adored Opa of Kayleigh, Preston, Julia, Brynnah, Jarrett, Aubrey, Danny, Zachary, Kristen, Maya, Vaughn, Tiffany and Joe; fond brother of Anita (Woody) Woodbury and Brenda (Bruce) Pontone; and dear son of the late Otto and the late Louise Schultes. Otto grew up in Niles, and ever since he was a youngster he loved working at the family business with his father, Otto Sr. The company was primarily a prototype manufacturing shop, originally called Schultes Experimental, Inc. In his early 30s, Otto assumed the presidency of the company. He changed the name to Schultes Precision Manufacturing Inc. and embarked on a continuous expansion program that is still ongoing to this day. The company is now a world-class high precision component manufacturer located in Buffalo Grove. Otto not only loved his family and his work, but also those he worked with over the years, who became his extended family.
