Patricia had tremendous love of family and faith. She enjoyed fishing, as long as someone else put the worm on the hook. Horse racing at Arlington Park in the Millionaires room and at the Kentucky Derby. She loved highly completive game time with family and friends (That’s how many of us learned to count.).
Patricia was active in her parish as a Minister of Care where she lovingly shared her faith and compassion with others. As a Religious Education teacher she prepared children for the sacrament of Holy Communion and is fondly remembered by many to this day. She enjoyed being an active member of the Rosemont Senior Club serving as Activity Director for several years, she loved to “Get this party started”. And was a gracious “First Lady” while her husband Robert served as the president of the club.
Visitation will be held on Monday January 24, 2022 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, Des Plaines. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Hope church, Rosemont.
Patricia touched everyone she met with Faith, Love and Laughter. She looked at the world through rose colored glasses and always looked for something good in everyone. She showed us that love can last through eternity. While we will miss her physically every day, we will carry her in our hearts every moment. One of her favorite sayings was “Happiness is a state of the mind so make up your mind to be happy”. And she was.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.OehlerFuneralHome.com for the SMITH family.
