

Pat grew up in Kenosha and was a lifelong Wisconsin sports fan. He attended the University of Wisconsin where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Accounting. He was part of the ROTC program where he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. After graduating, he served in the United States Air Force where he was a commissioned officer. He was stationed in Florida, Michigan and Alaska.
In 1959, Pat moved to Chicago to start his career in accounting with Arthur Andersen. He met Karen in 1959 and they were married on November 3, 1962. They recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary.
Pat then went to work with Swedish Covenant Hospital in accounting in 1964. He later obtained his Master of Business Administration from DePaul University in 1984. He retired in 2000 from Swedish Covenant Hospital. Pat and Karen had many travels in the U.S. and abroad. He loved to play cribbage and do watercolor painting. He was quite the artist, which is a skill he learned just recently. Pat and Karen enjoyed spending time with so many friends, including their dinner group of 53 years.
Patrick’s memory will live on in the hearts of his loving wife, Karen; his sons, Thomas Farmer (Kimberly Tillotson) and Steven Farmer (Jodi); and his precious grandchildren who they proudly called Papa, Gretchen, Chelsea, Liam and Benjamin. He is preceded in death by his sister Rose Sebena and his parents.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Oehler Funeral Home (2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL). A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Covenant Living of Northbrook - Town Place Center (2625 Techny Road, Northbrook, IL). Interment will be private.
