He is preceded in death by his parents, the late George and Lillie (née Kersey) Benton; his wife, LaVerne (née Mahler) Benton; his brother, Victor; his sisters, Barbara, Georgia, and Bertha; his daughter, Cheryl Benton-Neff; and his grandson, Jason Schiller.
Redden is survived by his daughters, Caryn Smith and Cindie Wallace; his grandchildren, John Wallace, Chad Smith, and Anthony Smith; and his great-grandchildren, Emma, Gaby, and Caiden.
Born in Saint Marks, Florida on August 28th, 1927, Redden went on to serve in the Navy, and then he was in the Merchant Marines. He later settled in Des Plaines, Illinois, where he enjoyed many years with his loving family. He will be deeply missed.
A graveside service will take place at Town of Maine Cemetery in Park Ridge, Illinois, at a later date. Details to be announced.
