Bob lived a life of pride and passion. His journey led him to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy and later as a union construction worker. Bob's dedication to himself and to his fellow sailors and union brothers twas evident in daily hard work. Spare time was filled with various hobbies that brought Bob a great sense of joy. He was an avid bowler (who had a 299 and a perfect 300 to his name) and fisherman. His love of fishing brought him to many different parts of the country and world, but he especially loved the serene landscape of Canada. He also thoroughly enjoyed spending time locally and frequently spent time at Arlington Park betting on the horses. Bob’s life was also full of love, with over five decades of marriage to his wife Fran and in raising their daughter, Jennifer. He will be deeply missed by all who know him.
Born July 21, 1950, to the late Charles Henry Gast and the late Agnes Elizabeth Gast (nee Walker) in Chicago, he was the beloved husband of 51 years of Frances Gast (nee Deeroff).
