Terra L. Suriano

Terra L. Suriano (nee Holt), RN, MSN, CIC, formerly of Joliet, Ill., passed peacefully Thursday, July 1, 2010, after a heroic 3½ year battle with pancreatic cancer at age 56. She was the beloved wife of Robert; devoted mother to Marcus, 11 and Sam 8; loving daughter to James Holt and the late Ann Holt (Matia); devoted sister to Judy (Thomas) Walker, Jim (Carla) Holt, Lori (Michael) Harris, and Deborah Holt (deceased); dear aunt to many nieces, nephews and a great-nephew; and loved by many sisters- and brothers-in law. She served as the infection control manager at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, and previously at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago. Prior to that she worked many years at Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago, as an infectious disease nurse. She will be missed by all she touched. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines, with a prayer service Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from chapel proceeding to St. Stephen Church, 1280 Prospect Ave., Des Plaines, for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be at 1 p.m. in Elmhurst Cemetery, 1212 E. Washington, Joliet, Ill., with a reception to follow.
