Yo Sung Kim, 100, was born March 22, 1916 in Korea to the late Kyung Il Kim and Soo Mee Noh and passed away August 15, 2016. Yo Sung was the loving father of Cecilia Lee, Young Ja Kang, Kun-Ho (Tony) Kim, Kun-Kook, Charlie, Kim, Kun-Sun, Shawn, Kim, Jung J. Kim and Kun-Il (Daniel) Kim. Yo Kim was the beloved grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was a Christian Refugee who fought against the Japanese Religious Coercion and fled to Jilin, China in 1935 where he met his late wife, Kyung Ok Chung who was also a Christian Refugee. He lived his life of a Christian, dedicated his life to his family and at the same time helped others who were less fortunate. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place Thursday, August 18 from 6 PM to 10 PM with a Prayer Service at 8 PM. Send-off Service will take place on August 19 at 10 AM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St., Des Plaines, 60016.
