I met “Michigan Jim” back around 2008 or 2009 I believe. I was part of the SPEED production team and was at the track every week. Jim would show up and be front and center. We produced a little piece on him years ago for our Trackside show. After 2013 when SPEED changed to FS1, we didn’t travel as much anymore but Jim would still pass through Charlotte and I’d get him into our RaceHub studios up until 2023/24. We’d chat in my office, catch up and he’d see all the talent and folks he had grown to know over the years. He really was part of our family. A great man with a love for NASCAR and all of us who brought it to the fans. Saddened to hear this news. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. MICHIGAN JIM!!
