Janice Elaine Knope (White), 80, of Dexter, MI passed Thanksgiving Day while enjoying her morning coffee. She is once again by the side of her husband Floyd Neil Knope who preceded her in their eternal journey. Jan’s mother Beryl and stepfather Guy (Colby) McGee along with her father Hollis White and stepmother Eleanor preceded her in passing. Brother Roy White and sons-in-law Tom Brown and Tom Inman have also preceded her in death.
She had been recovering from recent heart health issues and is now survived by her children; Brenda Brown (Ann Arbor, MI), Dan (Kathy) Krull (Midland, MI), Steve Krull (Dexter, MI) and Renee’ Krull (Munith, MI); stepchildren Dave (Georgia) Knope (Dexter, MI) and Diane (Clyde) Berry (Satellite Beach, FL) and by her brother Edsel White (Ft. Worth, TX).
Jan was most fond of her time spent with her grandchildren; Matt (Jenny) Knope, Amanda Brown, Chad Knope, Jake Krull, Disa Brown, Megan Krull, Kristin (Steven) Shotzbarger, Mitchell (Emily) Veal, Kelsee (Jim) Adams, Richard (Nina) Veal, Sean Berry and Alyssa Knope, simply to take in some of life’s precious energy from their youthful enthusiasm. Great grandchildren Steven Shotzbarger, Ethan Veal and Aria Shotzbarger were the newest loves of her life.
Jan had been an active member of Dexter’s St Andrew’s Church where she served on the finance committee and was a regular at the weekly bible discussion group. For many years she also enjoyed weekly card games, bowling and golf leagues and endless antique car outings with Floyd and her lifelong friends from the Village. Though retired from her position as Business Manager she was still very proud of her involvement as an owner/partner of Prakken Publications, Ann Arbor, MI.
As a true and loving matriarch of our family, she was dearly loved by all that knew her and she will be forever missed.
Please join us for a memorial service in celebration of her life and accomplishments to be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2012 at St Andrew’s United Church of Christ, 7610 Ann Arbor St, Dexter, MI. In lieu of flowers, please consider a small donation to one of Jan’s favorite charities; Special Olympics, The American Cancer Society or The Parkinson’s Research Foundation.
God bless and take care…
