Bernice Marian Amero, 79 of Tideview Terrace, formerly of Plympton, born in Toronto, Ontario passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of December 23rd, 2017. Bernice was a daughter of the late Violet (Reed) and Leslie Trebley. She worked in her earlier years in a box manufacturing plant in Toronto before moving to Plympton in 1970. She was a stay at home mom, housewife, occasionally working in fish plants and shucking clams. Bernice loved music, dancing, collecting movies, visiting with friends over a cup of tea and never missing out on the chance to go out for lunch or dinner. She loved going to bingo, playing cards and Yahtzee. Her children and grandchildren were her life and she would, without question go without in order to help them however she could. Years ago, Bernice was a member of the T.O.W.E.R. cb club where she was on the bowling team and in later years a member of the Digby East Fish And Game Association where she would work in the canteen and camped there for a few summers. She is survived by her children, Susan (Paul) Thibodeau, Plympton; Patricia Amero, Plympton; Michael (Wendy) Amero, Halifax; Thomas (Paula) Amero, Halifax; sisters, Dorothy Bucci and Jeanette Murtaugh both of Port Colborne, Ontario; Linda Amero, Plympton; brother, Leonard Trebley (Ruth Edwards) of Fort Erie, Ontario; grandchildren, Leahanne, Christopher, Kendra, Wade, Justin, Jordan, Kale, Chennacy, Hayley, Jordan, Chris and Bradley; great-grandchildren, Zachery, Cadence, Noah, Jade, Payton, Phoebe and Fiona and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Bernice was pre-deceased by her husband, Basil; brother, Roy; son-in-law Blaine and best friends Sandra and Gail. By request, family flowers only. In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 with prayers at 8pm, Wednesday December 27 from Jayne’s Funeral Home Digby. Funeral service will be 11 am Thursday December 28 from St Joseph Catholic Church, Weymouth.
