

Gray, Carvell Herman – Age 76 of Digby, passed away January 22nd, 2016 in Digby General Hospital. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late Herman and Blanche (Sullivan) Gray. Carvell worked as a paramedic for 25 years before retiring to devote more time to Gray’s Volkswagen shop where he was owner/operator. He was an avid reader, gardener and he had a passion for Volkswagens. He was a member of Digby County Cruisers. Carvell was a proud grandfather and will be missed by wife, M. Joyce Gray; daughter, Carna Gray; step-daughter, Joanne Nesbitt (Gary Keddy); son, Sean Gray; stepson, Robert (Margo) Nesbitt; sisters, Lillian (Jim) Doucette; sister in-law, Evelyn Sullivan; brother in-law, Charlie (Anne) Hawkins; grandchildren, Colton Nesbitt(Shelby Banks), Brooke Nesbitt (Zack Hiscoe), Jesselyn Nesbitt (Ryan Pulley), Madison Nesbitt (Mike Gaudet), Nick Nesbitt (Caitlyn Coldwell); great-grandchildren, Emma Nesbitt, Aubree Nesbitt, Landon Hiscoe, Mason Gaudet; niece, Debbie (Willard) Balser; nephews, Stephen Sullivan, Michael 9Lisa) Hawkins; great-nephew, Stephen Balser; great-nieces, Alexandra Hawkins and Erin Hawkins. Besides his parents, Carvell was predeceased by a son in infancy; half-brother, Arthur Sullivan and nephew, Matthew Hawkins. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. A memorial service will be 2pm, Friday January 29th from Smith’s Cove Baptist Church. Pastor Mark Cress will preside with interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
