Charles J Woods

Woods, Charles Joseph James age 90, of Digby, passed away July 3, 2023 at Tideview Terrace. Born in Quebec City, QC, he was a son of the late Joseph Patrick Woods, and Mary Cecilia Nina (Romans) Woods, Deep Brook. Charles loved golfing, fishing , hunting, camping, travelling with his beloved wife and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he loved beyond measure. Charles was a devote Catholic with a strong faith. He worked many years at CFB Cornwallis mail room until his retirement. Charles will be remembered for his gentle kindness, his laugh, his compassion, his values, deep unwavering faith and his devotion and undying love for his family. Surviving are his daughters Debra (late Frank) Marshall, Raleigh, NC; Terese (Rick) Andrews, Rossway, Digby Co.; Noella (Byron Crossman) Woods, Canning; son Charles “Chuck” (Kerstin) Woods, Coldbrook; sisters Rita (late Carl) Burrell, Kingston; Monica (late Ken) Peach, Kingston; brother Leo (Karen) Woods, Deep Brook; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife Alvina Margaret ( Melanson) whom so sadly passed away in 2019, brothers Barney Woods, Quebec City; Joseph (late Gerda Woods ), Toronto Ont. James Woods, Deep Brook, William “Bill” (Elizabeth) Woods, Fredericton ,NB sisters Alice (late Robert) Fudge, Hammonds Plains, Agnes (late Michael Owens ) Kamloops, BC; Elizabeth “Betty” (late Marvin “Mitch”) Mitchell, Annapolis. Funeral Service will be 2 pm Friday, July 7 from St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Digby. Father Keith Billard will officiate with burial in Madonna Cemetery, Marshalltown. Donations in memory can be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jaynes Funeral Home 15 Birch St. Digby.
