Douglas Wilfred Harris

HARRIS, Douglas Wilfred, Age 101,of Digby passed away June 23rd, 2014 in Digby General Hospital with his Lord at his side. He was born Sept. 4, 1912 in Sandy Cove, to the late Sanford and Mary (Speight) Harris. Douglas was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his first wife, Faustina (Handspiker); second wife, Ethel; daughters, Rose Bent, Dianne Thibault, sons in law, Herman Bent and James Thibault; grandson, Keith Harris; sisters, Beatrice, Sarah, Alice, Edith, Rena; half-sisters, Dorothy, Mildred, Ruby; brother, Lee; half-brothers, Clinton Harris and Reg Weir. Douglas is survived by son, Frank (Joan) Harris, Deep Brook; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. We would like to express our thanks to Debbie and Emille Blinn of Cliff Haven, “His family away from home”. No visitation by request. Funeral Service will be at 2 pm, Thursday June 26th, from Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch St. Digby (245-2525). Pastor Mark Cress presiding with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Digby.
