Eleanor was born on September 11, 1949, in Weymouth, Nova Scotia. She lived many years in Halifax, where she was employed with Oland Brewery for 30 of them, and where she met many lifelong friends. Upon her retirement, she and her soulmate Irwin, returned to Weymouth to live their “best lives” together, which she loved doing each and every day.
She had a big personality and could always light up any room. Her great sense of humour could make anyone feel at ease. She had a passion for many things and you could often find her at bingo, browsing a yard sale or shopping at any thrift store. Whatever she was doing, she was always on the move and most of that time, she had her soulmate by her side.
Eleanor had a zest for life, and it was that zest for life that helped her overcome many health challenges over recent years. She faced every one of them with determination and never let a single one, bring her down or stop her.
She was predeceased by her mother, Hazel Ford (Anslem LeBlanc), brother Donnie and her grandson, Kyle. She is survived by her siblings, Shirley, Carol and Kenny.
Eleanor will be dearly missed by her husband Irwin and her children; Wayne (Margaret), Robert (Jennifer), Stephen (Kandace); grandchildren; Ashley, Kyla, Kayleigh, Emma, Joshua, Tatum, Eleanina, Dustin and Oscar. Great-granddaughter, Harper.
Celebration of life to be held at the Weymouth Legion on Thursday Aug 3rd @ 2pm to 6pm.
Family burial to be held at a later date.
